Twitter growth slows to a mere 1.47% in May according to compete.com

Twitter growth has significantly stagnated in the month of May, this according to compete data. Twitter experianced a growth rate of over 1000% over the past year and has added over 5 million users in April alone (a 38% increase.) To put the monthly 1.47% growth rate in context, over the same period of time, Digg has grown by 2.65% and Facebook by an impressive 8.54%. The growth rates reflect an increase in unique visitors to each site. This should be especially concerning to the folks at Twitter because conversion rates of new users are reportadly very low.
